Description: In 2007, Claire got a phone call from Eric whilst she was taking her dog for a walk. Eric called to ask whether she was interested in coming over to the garage to audition as their main vocalist for their band which was already set up of course. Their current band was called “Carrie & band” and although relatively new on the local scene, their lead singer had decided to go solo, so of course they needed a singer fast! At that point in time Claire was singing with Fused an acoustic rock band and although always one with a very busy schedule…anything new that felt like a good idea was an opportunity not to miss out on. So, Claire said yes and went for the audition and nailed it! Beige was now born. For the first few months together, the band performed many cover songs with strong funk influences dominating the repertoire. Artists included Prince, Jamiroquai, Maroon 5, Macy Gray , Joss Stone plus others.. Once the chemistry of Beige became strong on two fronts, personalities and musically, the objective of all the Beige crew was now to write their own music. At this point in time the genre of music was also defined and is a fusion of funk, soul, easy listening, alternative and jazz. First song released was “Anything” During this time, Beige also enjoyed some great performances on TV as well as some great venues, including Malta Music Awards, Television awards , Virtual Model event, various tv programs including Ryans, Veccja, Hard Rock, V5 , Yacht marina and many others. Our second song “Say Hey “ was than recorded and released in time for the Hard Rock Battle of Bands, that was televised on PBS . This song was upbeat and was about the stresses of work and how to let go of them and keep thinking positive .. “Say Hey “also got great radio play. At this point in time, Beige was still performing and this was getting in the way of creative new songs. Therefore, a decision was taken by the entire band to stop performing in order to write more music . 6-8 months in the garage and some 6 songs were created! Out of which Beige, decided to record - “Feels Good.” The lyrics of “Feels Good” talk about the beauty and joy of having found one’s soul mate. The love in this relationship is effortless and very natural. This song clearly communicates these emotions through the musical direction, tone of voice and transition. Now that Feels Good is recorded, Beige is eager to launch this song and become a household name in the local music scene. Great musicians & songwriting skills, strong friendships, distinct tone of voice and lively performance make Beige a distinct and unique band.
